THE CHALLENGE

Young individuals who live in townships often lack tech skills and knowledge and feel they are incapable of coding due to a lack of exposure. Our task was to teach 100 township learners how to code in 2 days.

OUR APPROACH

  • Built a simple low cost tech solution to teach programming concepts
  • Configured mini-computer kits that learners could take home and use by connecting to any TV screen
  • Hosted an interactive 2-day training session to excite learners about developing skills and careers in tech
  • Compiled a training programme that enabled students to independently code and refine animated projects
